ANNOUNCES POTENTIAL BREACH OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
The California Department of Child Support Services has begun notifying child support customers of a potential release of their personal information. The incident involved the personal information of approximately 1,175 people when the information was faxed to a financial institution in error.
The Department is a state agency which assists parents free of charge in enforcing and modifying child support payments. Letters are being sent to the 1,175 child support customers to notify them of the incident and to provide information on protecting themselves from the possibility of identity fraud.
